A Tea Lover's Jaipur Experience
History was my favourite subject in school, so much so that I aspire to do my 2nd masters in Indian History soon.
Exploring new arenas, particularly historical ones fascinates me naturally and recharges my soul. A college friend getting posted at Jaipur got the ball rolling. Basically, all I need is a partner and an uninterrupted supply of my favourite tea.
So, plans chalked out, tickets booked and Jaipur …. here comes Sweta with a packet of Royal Jaipur tea (to bribe my friend and pay in kind for hosting me). After all, who will say no to a pack of tea, right?
An early morning, Shatabdi express train to Jaipur was tiring, yet the very thought of seeing new places, meeting my friend kept the adrenaline level up.
The morning tea from IRCTC was Shocking, thank lord I had my refill ready. So I shunned the tea offered, sought some hot water, made my own tea, shared with fellow passenger….. Thereafter, the remaining time just flew by.
My friend came to the station to receive me, despite her residence being at the other end of the city. I am so grateful she came, our chatterbox opened up.
A delicious lunch of Dosa and Idli at a beautifully interior Haveli style restaurant RJ14 enroute with the traditional Rajasthani folk song “Padhaaro Mahro Desh” welcomed me (or should I say “us”) to the fascinating land of capital city of Rajasthan, the famous Indian desert state.
Am still reeling under the good time I spent exploring Jaipur. Will share the story next time. Till then enjoy tea & the pictures…
